Local Taekwondo partcipants compete in national tournament
Grandmaster Tae Z Park celebrates 50 years of teaching with a national tournament
On Saturday, November 9, the Taekwondo students of Ramos Institute, from the Lowell Litehouse YMCA and Ionia Parks and Recreation, celebrated and honored their Great Grandmaster Tae Z Park for 50 years of teaching and being President of Tae Park Taekwondo. There were 209 students from Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Wyoming, and New York that competed in 330 events.
There were 32 students from Ramos Institute competed in 83 events that included Forms (patterns of kicking and punching,) Sparring, Kicking, One-step sparring (partner self-defense techniques,) Board Breaking, and Synchronized Team Forms. They brought home a total of 46 Gold medals, 28 silver, and 9 Bronze.
