New Trading Card Promotion Encourages Local in-store Traffic

Each year, the Christmas Planning Committee, headed by the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce, selects a theme for the holiday season. The theme typically comes to life during the Annual Night-time Santa Parade and in storefront windows along Main Street in Lowell. Adding to the fun, this year’s “12 Days of Christmas” theme will be activated in an exciting new way, with plenty of Lowell Buck$ up for grabs.

The concept is simple and based on the popular “12 Days of Christmas” song. Now, through December 20, visit participating Lowell area businesses and collect “12 Days of Christmas” trading cards. Once you have at least one card to represent each of the “12 Days” (four calling birds, three French hens, two turtle doves, etc.), simply show your cards at the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce, during standard business hours or during special hours for Santa Visits on the Lowell Showboat VI, and be entered to win $100 in Lowell Buck$. One winner will be drawn on Thursday, December 21, 2023.

As a bonus, and a great opportunity for many to get involved, the first 100 people to show all “12 Days of Christmas” trading cards at the Chamber office by December 20 will receive one $5 Lowell Buck$ certificate. One certificate per person allowed.

“The “12 Days” trading card promotion is a bit of a scavenger hunt, designed to engage the whole community and generate foot traffic for our local businesses,” states Shannon Kennedy, Executive Director of the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce. “Whether you’re visiting a business for the first time or visiting again for the first time in a long time, it’s our hope you’ll discover something new being offered or even get a bit of holiday shopping done at the same time,” states Kennedy. “Supporting local merchants truly helps to bolster a thriving community.”

Redeemable at more than 60 businesses in the Greater Lowell Area, Lowell Buck$ also work to support our local economy. Lowell Buck$ are available for purchase at the Chamber office and DiscoverLowell.org and come in a range of denominations to help create the perfect gift. When ordering online, select “email to yourself” to print and hand-deliver or deliver via email directly to your recipient.
