Rich is survived by his wife of 70 years, Phyllis (nee Chaterdon); children, Janet (Al Lewis) Bieri, Ginny (Jerry) Gauger, Nancy (Dave) DeNolf, Dale Bieri; grandchildren, Garret (Sara) DeNolf, Elliot (Andria) DeNolf, Austin (Kait) DeNolf, Tiffany (Joe) Polasek, Jeremiah (Cassidy) Gauger; great-grandchildren, Leona, Violet, Emma, Arya, Finley, Elliston, Cohen, Jude; brothers, Paul (Kathy) Bieri, Ron Bieri; sister-in-law, Donna Bieri; and many nieces and nephews. Rich graduated from Lowell High School in 1945. He then went on to serve in the United States Army as a Sergeant during the Korean Conflict. Rich then went on to become Co-owner of OE Bieri & Sons. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW, as well as being a lifetime member of United Methodist Church of Lowell. Visitation was held Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Roth-Gerst Funeral Home, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell, MI 49331. Funeral services were held, Friday, September 20, 2024, at Roth-Gerst Funeral Home with visitation one-hour prior. Pastor Brad Brillhart officiating. Interment Bailey Cemetery. Military honors will be held under the auspices of the Kent County Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice or Lowell United Methodist Church.
