CARL DEAN WITTENBACH
After a long battle of illnesses, Dean left to be with his Lord. He was raised on the family farm outside of Lowell. He served in the US Army and completed a tour in Vietnam. Through the journeys of his life, he became a jack-of-all-trades, master of none, who eventually would retire from Mid-Michigan Livestock Services in Ovid. Dean was a bit of a renaissance man with a vast array of interests. He enjoyed the fruits of the land and shared his opinions with those who would listen (and many that preferred not to). A non-conforming philosopher of life who lived on his own terms, wandering for many years until he found his place amongst “the great cosmic wonderfulness”.
Dean will be sadly missed by the family he left behind: wife Julie Fox, their children and grandchildren. Daughter Tricia Wittenbach of Clarksville; her children Jaede and Easton Stank. Daughter Faith (Don) Wailes of Strasburg, Colorado; her children Abram and Elizabeth (Libby). Son Zachariah (Jessica) Wittenbach of Orleans; his children Drake, Leonidas and Victoria. Son Jeremiah (Tiffinie) Wittenbach of Ionia; his children Miah, Jaxson, Harper and Rowan. Adopted Son Andrew Woodrow (Kari Brooke) of Ovid; his son Maxson. Siblings; Chris (Gail) Wittenbach of Clinton, Joe (Deb) Wittenbach of Muir, Pat (Terri) Wittenbach of Ionia, James (Justin) Wittenbach of Fairborn, Ohio, Kim (Karla) Wittenbach of Portland and Anne (Scott) Swinehart of Ionia. In-Law’s include Shelley Obery of Ionia, Carolyn Fox of Ionia, Merlin (Donna) Fox of Belding, Bryan Fox of Muir, Carlene (Carl) Fox of Saranac, Deanna (Brian) Foco of Ionia, Stephanie (Michael) Morey of DeWitt, Helena (Steve) Hoover of Brighton and Matthew Fox of Ionia.
He also leaves the dear friend and neighbor lady, Diane Smith of Ionia, as well as, several nieces and nephews. Dean will be reunited with his parents; George and Barb Wittenbach, siblings; Steve and his wife Karen Wittenbach, Jan Wittenbach and Paula Wittenbach, In-Laws; Merlin and Diane Fox, nephews; Bart Wittenbach, Brent Foco, Bryan Dolley, and Gordon Dolley, and close friend Michael Butler. Dean always said the new year did not start until the spring when everything was new and refreshed. Per his wishes, join us in the spring for a celebration of his life. Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Belding is serving his family.
