He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis J. Tousignaut; mother, Patricia Tousignaut; and infant brother. Monty is survived by his five daughters, Lisa (Kevin) Zandstra; Michelle (Kevin) Mangus; Stacy (Travis) Gemmell; Tara Williams; Breanna Tousignaut; grandchildren, Sydney Zandstra; Elvis Lane Jr.; Abigail Mangus; Avery and Brock Gemmell; Sadie Williams; sisters, Sandra (Russ) Videan, Sherri Thuston; nephews, Jeff (who always had a special bond with his uncle Monty), Mike; nieces Tina, Becky, Kathy, Jackie, Tricia; former wife Susan “Sue” Heiss and canine companions, Gizmo, Wyatt, and Luka. Monty attended Boynton, a one room schoolhouse in Vergennes Twp. and Lowell High School, where he wrestled under coach Gary Rivers. '
He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany from 1967 to 1970. Monty worked alongside his father in the family business building water towers all over the state; then went on to work for the Kent County Landfill, operating heavy equipment for many years. Monty enjoyed anything outdoors; hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, cruising on his cherished Harley, riding horses that his family owned while growing up, and spending time on Murray Lake boating with his daughters.
A Celebration of Life was held on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Moose Lodge, 320 E Main Street Lowell, MI 49331. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.
