HOAG

Carol Sue Hoag (née Thuston), 82, passed away on February 10, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Carol was born on July 11, 1942, in Elmhurst, Illinois, to Charlie and Mary Whitney Thuston. She grew up in Michigan and graduated from Lowell High School in 1960. She married J. Brian Hoag in Alto, MI on June 30, 1961. Life took them from Lowell to Lansing, Eaton Rapids, and finally to Louisville, KY. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, J. Brian Hoag; their children, Brian L. Hoag, Mary Hoag, Jennifer (Jeff) Marklein, and Aaron (Mary) Hoag; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Carol is also survived by her siblings, Ken (Joyce) Thuston, Mary (Doug) Coverston, Linda Strathearn, Larry (Shar) Thuston, Julie (Mike) Owen, and Deb Higbee. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Judith Thuston and Pat Higbee. A memorial service was held on February 18, 2025, at Fern Creek United Methodist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. A second memorial service will take place on February 28, 2025, at Roth-Gerst Funeral Home in Lowell, Michigan. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the service at 1:30 PM. Carol will be dearly missed and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
